DEXPI at Radix RUSH EMEA 2026: Open Standards & Interoperability
DEXPI has been invited by RADIX Engineering to Radix RUSH EMEA 2026 in Amsterdam on September 2, 2026. With the participation of Dr. Michael Wiedau (Evonik Industries AG / Chairman of the DEXPI board), Johan Immerzeel (Shell / DEXPI board member) and Gerardo Santillan (Semantum / DEXPI board member), this highlights the growing relevance of open standards, interoperability, and digital transformation in the process industry.
DEXPI’s Contribution to Semantic Interoperability
The conference brings together industrial companies, engineering service providers, and software vendors to discuss the future of data-driven industrial processes. In this context, DEXPI will present its perspective as an open, vendor-independent data exchange standard for the process industry, with a strong focus on semantic interoperability across CAE systems and lifecycle phases.

DEXPI Specification Teams advance work on DEXPI 2.0.1 and DEXPI Profile
The DEXPI Specification Teams are currently working on two important developments within the DEXPI framework: DEXPI 2.0.1 and the DEXPI Profile. Both initiatives are aimed at strengthening the specification and supporting more robust, implementation-ready semantic interoperability for the process industry.
Focus on DEXPI 2.0.1
DEXPI 2.0.1 is being prepared as an important update to the DEXPI 2.0 specification. The work particularly addresses corrections and clarifications in the Process Model and is intended to improve consistency and reliability for future implementations.
Once released, DEXPI 2.0.1 is expected to become the recommended basis for further work with the specification, replacing DEXPI 2.0.
For software vendors, engineering organizations, and other stakeholders working with DEXPI-based data exchange, this update is relevant because it helps create a more stable foundation for interoperable engineering workflows.
Expanding the Framework with the DEXPI Profile
In parallel, the Specification Teams are developing the DEXPI Profile, which extends the DEXPI specification with a mechanism for defining explicit constraints on classes and properties. This creates the basis for the DEXPI Process Type Library and opens new possibilities for more advanced modeling and implementation.
For interested industry participants, this development is especially significant because it moves DEXPI further toward a more precise and scalable semantic framework. It supports the goal of standardized data exchange that not only transfers data between systems, but also preserves structure, meaning, and implementation quality.
Ongoing Review and Community Involvement
The current draft materials are under review within the DEXPI community. A dedicated Q&A session for DEXPI members and members of the Scientific Advisory Board will take place on September 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. CEST. The review process is currently open to these groups. Future Digital Twin & AI Amsterdam 2026: DEXPI e.V. Is There
On September 18, 2026, the “Future Digital Twin & AI” conference will take place in Amsterdam, marking a second important event for DEXPI in the city this autumn. Following DEXPI’s participation in the Radix RUSH Conference on September 2, DEXPI will also be present at Future Digital Twin & AI as a sponsor and exhibitor, joining professionals from the energy and process industries to discuss AI, digital twin technology, and data-driven engineering. Together with IDTA, DEXPI will organize a joint discussion panel and share an exhibition stand.
Where Data Standards and AI Converge
The conference focuses on topics of immediate relevance to the process industry: AI-powered common data models, governance for trustworthy digital twins, agentic AI, scalable POC-to-production transitions, and generative AI. Across all these discussions, one question remains central: without semantic interoperability between systems, the digital twin remains an isolated construct rather than an integrated tool across all lifecycle phases.
